Ego Atelier shoes are designed to enhance your personal style and handcrafted to consider all life. Care, effort, and time extended in the handmade process is evident in the fit, fine quality, and construction built to last whilst operating alongside a circular economy model. The Components used (heels, insole materials, and soles) are sourced from Tuscany, Italy from notable family factories that work with top luxury brands and who also share a commitment to working with the environment. The leather sourced is from Italy & Spain, a by-product of the meat industry, with their practices used for generations showcasing how industry and agriculture can work side by side harmoniously. Many heels & materials on offer for bespoke shoes are vintage. Packaging & jewelry pieces are purchased from British, Danish, and French artisans, & manufacturers. Maintaining a close proximity to our suppliers allows us to minimise our carbon footprint. Upon request, we will disclose any details about the materials used to sustain our transparent supply chain.
Craftsmanship & comfort are the heart of all shoes made at Ego Atelier. As each pair of feet is unique there is no such thing as one size fits all, moreover, we currently measure foot length when we should be measuring heel to ball length thus when producing a size range the product result requires a footbed system that can adapt to the wearers' natural shape. Sara has dedicated her journey constructing shoes to find that perfect balance of quality, fit, esthetics, & comfort and as such, developed the Quattro System.
Quattro, four in Italian, bears meaning as each pair is constructed with four layers of cushioning within and around the inner construction of the shoe, a strategy that involves a unique combination of crafting techniques specifically designed to adapt to the form of the foot's natural shape immediately, cradling the arch and providing maximum comfort by evenly distributing balance & relieving pressure from the ball of the foot.
